Film Review: Everyone Says I Love You

Everyone Says I Love You (1996)

This is one of my favourite modern musicals. It blends classic songs with witty and zany characters. A highly underrated Woody Allen classic. Julia Roberts does very little and Woody Allen's insistance that the actors use their own singing voices no matter how bad makes her song a very painful painful few minutes to get through, but it's worth it.

My favourite quotation:
Bob: Frieda, this pasta doesn't have any sauce!
Frieda: It's Bavarian pasta, it doesn't need sauce. Italian pasta needs sauce. The Italians were weak!

Letters to Juve: Week 27 (Roma v. Juventus)

Dear Alessandro,

Can you hear that? It's the sound of thousands of journalists all over the world eating their words.

Love,
Lisa

*****

Dear Fabio,

Your defending was superb as always and the goal? I do believe that was the cherry on top of a frosted cupcake of a performance. Also, you're quite the looker.

Love,
Lisa

*****

Dearest Zlatan,

I am glad you took my advice and switched your boots. Red is a good colour. I think these are going to be good boots. Your goal was so lovely it's a shame it was disallowed. Silly linesman.

Love,
Lisa

*****

Dear Lillian,

A shout out for your fabulous defending. Your defending is always fabulous, but I don't think your praises are sung quite enough, so allow me to sing them now, in the key of F Sharp.

Love,
Lisa
